Forgiveness

Walking in the Word

33 And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”  Luke 23:33-34

Responding to the Word

Easter is long over but remembering what Jesus did for us on the cross is not.  As we read through the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) we remember the price Jesus paid for us all.  He was tortured and made fun of, taunted by guards and even put to death on the cross.  He did it all for us!  Our heart should be filled with incredible gratitude (being very thankful for).  We are indeed forgiven but not perfect.  Many times we act according to the flesh (doing what we want to do and not what God wants us to do) and not in the Spirit. How comforting it is hear the voice of Jesus saying, "Forgive him Father."  Have you thanked Him today for the incredible price He paid for you?  Have you asked for His forgiveness for the sins you have committed?  Then don't wait another minute and talk to God.  He's listening and ready to forgive.

Praying through the Word

Father, How difficult it must have been to see Your Son on the Cross of Calvary.  Thank you for sending your Son making a way for us to be forgiven.  Thank You for an incredible night of worship last night with Pastor Johnny Hunt.  Please guide us in your love and ways today. In Jesus' Name, Amen
