Walking in the Word
"Operation, Operation!" That was a great game. A little on the stressful side, but lots of fun. Do you have that game in your home? It's a game that makes YOU the one in control. YOU are the one that needs steady hands and YOU are one that keeps that buzzard silent and nose from lighting up. But notice what happened in today's Bible reading. When people heard about the power and authority of Jesus, they brought their sick to Him. Not just those with a cold or a slight fever. They brought the impossible! Demon-possessed, paralyzed and diseased. And what happened? He healed them. Jesus took broken lives and broken bodies and made them whole.
Prayer of Response to the Word
Father, you are many times called the Great Physician! I confess that I often shutter at the words like cancer, leukemia and terminal sickness. But help me remember that You are the designer and archetech of our bodies. Sickness and disease are not a surprise to you and that they are by no means stronger than you are. I am thankful for the grace and mercy you so freely offer me this morning. Please give me eyes to see and ears to hear what you are doing in our world and in my life today. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
