From Slave to Master

Walking in the Word

But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”  Matthew 20:25-28

Response to the Word

Have you ever heard these words in school, "It's opposite day!"  I think its the craziest day when you don't say what you want, instead you say the opposite.  When Jesus talked to His disciples about greatness, they must have thought it was "Opposite day."  How do you become great by serving one another?  Why do we need to be a 'slave' in order to be first?  It all comes down to Jesus.  He came to serve and not to be served.  He paid the 'ransom' for all of us.  That's the kind of God we worship.  He looks down with love and seeks those who have a heart to serve.  Do you have a heart like that?  Do you look for those who you can help?  Take a look around.  You never know what's going to happen today.

Response in Prayer

Dear Father,   Thank you for another glorious day.  You gave us a great day of worship yesterday and I praise You today and everyday.  Please guard my heart against those prideful moments in my life. Thank you for another wonderful day.  I pray today for my friend Pastor Mike Storter.  Would you please being healing and health to his body.  In Jesus' Name, Amen
